The Guigal family has made serious dry rosé wines since the 1940s, and their Côtes du Rhône Rosé, like all their Côtes du Rhône wines, is humble in name only. The wine bursts with irresistible fresh red fruits and yet is also serious and satisfying. While this Rosé is always a lovely aperitif, its intensity and richness make it perfect for the table, and it pairs well with all manner of cuisines. And starting with the 2020 vintage, the wine has a stunning new proprietary bottle: a subtle enhancement for an already elegant wine!
Rose wine, also known as rosé, is a type of wine that is made from red wine grapes. Unlike red wine, which is made by fermenting the juice of red grapes with the skins, rose wine is made by fermenting the juice of red grapes with the skins for a short period of time, typically just a few hours. This limited exposure to the skins gives the wine its characteristic pink color, as well as a lighter body and flavor profile than red wine. Rose wine can range in color from light pink to a deep, salmon hue and can be dry or sweet, depending on the winemaking style.
