A jeweled ruby color, the 2021 Chianti Classico is ripe and has a great nose of fresh wild herbs, pure raspberry, graphite, and fresh violets. Medium-bodied, its more cedar tones come through on the palate, with ripe, very well-integrated tannins, clean lift, and a hint of its toasted incense on the finish. A very well-balanced wine from Carpineto.

Carpineto Chianti Classico is produced from estate-owned vineyards in the picturesque countryside of the Tuscan appellation. Full-bodied with a velvety texture, this Chianti is abundantly aromatic with notes of violets, berries, and cherries. Aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks and Slavonian oak barrels for 4-6 months, then bottled aged an additional 4-6 months. Blend: 80% Sangiovese, 20% Canaiolo This Chianti is a premium wine that's packed with flavor and aroma. Its velvety texture and full-bodied taste come from a careful combination of Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes that are grown in estate-owned vineyards in Tuscany. With a balance of fruity and floral notes, it's no wonder this wine is a favorite among connoisseurs.

Sangiovese

Sangiovese is a red wine grape predominantly associated with Italy, particularly in the Tuscany region. Known for its high acidity and versatile nature, Sangiovese produces wines with bright red fruit flavors, including cherry and strawberry, along with floral and herbal notes. Famous Tuscan wines such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are primarily made from Sangiovese. The grape's character can vary depending on the winemaking style and the specific terroir, ranging from lighter, more approachable styles to complex, age-worthy wines with robust tannins and a distinct sense of place. Sangiovese wines are often praised for their food-friendly acidity and ability to express the unique characteristics of the regions where they are grown.
