James Suckling: 91 Points

This has a youthful and attractive nose of blackcurrants, mulberries, olives and anise. It’s full-bodied and textured, with firm yet ripe tannins and chewy black fruit. 90% cabernet sauvignon, 5% cabernet franc and 5% malbec with extended maceration for about 9 months on skins.

Wine Enthusiast: 90 Points

Light aromas of spice and cedar lead to almost creamy feeling blueberry and plum flavors. It brings an appealing texture, although not immediately identifiable as Cabernet.

INTRINSIC has a wonderful floral nose, complemented by aromas of cherry and leather. The flavors are layered with tones of blueberry jam, pomegranate and chocolate. The texture is rustic, yet silky, with a unique savory and inviting finish. The raw characteristics of INTRINSIC Cabernet Sauvignon pair nicely with grilled meats such as lamb, beef and pork, and seared vegetables.

Cabernet Sauvignon

A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
