James Suckling
An uncompromising Champagne for a non-vintage wine with a lot of smoky character woven between the orange fruit. Concentrated and structured, but beautifully balanced, the mineral acidity and fine mousse counterbalancing the richness. Breathtakingly long complete finish in spite of being bone dry. A cuvee of 69% pinot noir and 31% chardonnay from Verzenay and Verzy based on the 2018 vintage with reserve wines from 2016, 2015 and 2014. 20% of the base wine was vinified in oak casks, it went into the bottle for second fermentation on April 26th, 2019 and was disgorged on November 4th, 2022. Almost no dosage. Drink or hold.

Description

JM Labruyere Prologue Grand Cru is a crisp and elegant champagne with aromas of peach, toast, and apple.
In tribute to his ancestor who preceded him by six generations, Edouard decided to name this new domaine, J.M. Labruyère. The origin of the estate goes back to the 1820, the year when its beautiful cellars were built, and the first bottles saw daylight in 1863. Several families owned the property and vineyards on exceptional Grand Cru terroirs during the 20th century and in 2012 they made a choice to entrust the keys of their wine jewel to another family of vine growers from Burgundy: Labruyère. Today the entire team is dedicated to bringing the domaine among Grower's Champagne elite by combining traditions, sustainable agriculture, haute-couture vinification, Burgundian know-how and vineyard designated approach to let each terroir show itself.

Non-Vintage Sparkling

Non-vintage sparkling wine, commonly referred to as NV or "Méthode Traditionnelle," is an amalgamation of wines from various years, skillfully blended to achieve a consistent and harmonious flavor profile. Produced using the traditional method, this sparkling wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle, contributing to its effervescence and complexity. By intentionally avoiding a specific vintage designation, winemakers have the flexibility to maintain a reliable and recognizable style, allowing consumers to enjoy a reliable and delicious sparkling experience year after year.
