Lois (rhyming with “choice”) is named after the village of Langenlois and was one of the first high-quality examples of Grüner Veltliner to be exported to international markets in 1999. Its intent is an easy-to-enjoy, fresh-tasting style of Grüner Veltliner produced from a combination of estate grown fruit and contracted growers in Lower Austria.
Grüner Veltliner’s bright acidity and savory character make it and an ideal partner to mildly spiced Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes. Fish and shellfish are accented by Grüner Veltliner’s citrus and mineral profile while its acidity cuts the richness of pork or ham. It can also work well with foods that are difficult to pair such as bitter greens and asparagus.

Grüner Veltliner is a white wine grape variety that hails from Austria and is considered the country's signature grape. Known for its versatility and adaptability to different terroirs, Grüner Veltliner produces wines with a unique and refreshing profile. The grape exhibits flavors of green apple, citrus, and white pepper, often accompanied by a characteristic minerality. Grüner Veltliner wines can range from light and crisp to more full-bodied and textured, and they pair exceptionally well with a variety of foods. While Austria is the primary producer, Grüner Veltliner is also grown in other wine regions, including parts of Germany, Hungary, and the United States, where it has gained recognition for its bright acidity and appealing aromatic qualities.
