Aperitifs/Bitters

Aperitifs are pre-meal alcoholic beverages, often wine- or spirit-based, designed to stimulate the appetite with their light and refreshing qualities. Examples include vermouth and herbal liqueurs. On the other hand, bitters are concentrated, aromatic spirits infused with botanicals, herbs, and spices, used sparingly in cocktails to enhance flavor by adding complexity and depth. While aperitifs prepare the palate for a meal, bitters play a crucial role in cocktail culture, contributing intense flavors to drinks without being consumed on their own.
