Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a famous wine region located in the southern Rhône Valley of France. It is known for producing some of the finest and most highly-regarded red wines in the world, made primarily from the Grenache grape, as well as other varieties such as Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Counoise.  The wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape are characterized by their full-bodied, rich and complex flavors, with notes of dark fruit, spice, and herbs. They are typically high in alcohol and tannins, with a long aging potential. The terroir of the region is diverse, with a variety of soil types and microclimates, which contributes to the unique character of the wines.
