Domaine Sorrel has been crafting excellent wines in Hermitage since 1893, and is now run by brothers trio Jean Michel, Jacques, and Bruno (J.M.B). They carefully manage their six hectares with sustainable farming, which includes having horses plow the the vineyards, and practice natural winemaking in the cellar. Three separate parcels in Hermitage are sourced: ‘Les Plantiers’ (also known as ‘Le Vignon’), ‘Les Greffieux,’ and ‘Les Bessards,’ (planted between 1910 and 1915). This traditional Hermitage Rouge is a powerful wine with complex aromas that can last for decades. The wine was fermented with ambient yeast (5% whole clusters included) and matured in neutral French oak for two years. There is a light fining but no filtration before bottling.
