Product Description

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with heady aromas of black raspberry, cherry, sage and tobacco leaf. A juicy, mouth filling texture reveals seamless layers of currant, cherry, blueberry, dark plum and black olive with trailing hints of mocha, mineral and eucalyptus. Suggestions of vanilla bean join soft tannins on a smooth, rounded finish.

Savor the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon with richly textured dishes such as beef tenderloin, sage-rubbed lamb chops, grilled portobello mushroom, and lamb Bolognese with parmesan and herbs.

Blend: 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec, 6% Petite Sirah, 3% Syrah

This vintage marked one of Paso Robles longest and coolest growing seasons. The grapes for this wine came from six different blocks on the estate with three varying soil types: ancient seabed, rocky alluvium, and shale. Ripe and rich with reinedin power, the result blended with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Malbec, Petite Sirah, and Syrahexudes flavors of boysenberry pie, chocolate espresso, and black olive. With a round texture and a mineral base, it maintains structure and balance.

Approachable fruit aromas of black currant, cranberry, baking spice and sandalwood show on the nose of this reliable bottling. The palate combines the light red and darker black fruits as well as anise and oregano to amplify the herb factor.

A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
