Bodegas Breca Old Vine Garnacha is artisan mountain wine of remarkable depth and value, crafted from some of the world's most ancient Garnacha vines in the rugged D.O. Calatayud of Aragón, Spain. Founded in 2010 by acclaimed importer Jorge Ordóñez, the project sources fruit from old, low-yielding gobelet-trained vineyards planted between 1900 and 1940 — farmed organically and entirely by hand. The high-altitude terroir, with its slate soils and dramatic 45°F day-to-night temperature swings, produces Garnacha of unusual aromatic intensity and freshness. On the nose, expect black raspberry, blueberry preserve, dark chocolate, and a wisp of crushed flowers and minerality. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with juicy fruit, integrated oak, ripe tannins, and a long, mineral-driven finish. This is a wine that consistently overdelivers — earning 94 points and broad critical praise vintage after vintage. Pair it with grilled meats, slow-cooked lamb, paella, or aged Manchego for a classic Spanish food-and-wine match.
