ProducerChateau Haut Queyran
Château Haut Queyran is a serious, terroir-driven Médoc red carrying the prestigious Cru Bourgeois classification — a hallmark of quality and consistency in Bordeaux's Left Bank. Owned by the Demarchi family since 1964, the estate sits on prime limestone-clay soils just minutes northwest of Saint-Estèphe, in heart of one of the world's most celebrated red wine regions. The blend leans heavily on Cabernet Sauvignon (around 70%) with Merlot rounding out the cuvée for elegance and approachability. The nose offers classic Médoc aromatics: cassis, blackcurrant, graphite, and warm spice with subtle red-fruit lift. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full bodied with structured but smooth tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, satisfying length that's textbook for the appellation. This is honest, well-built Bordeaux at a thoroughly fair price. Pair with grilled lamb, beef bourguignon, hard cheeses, or a classic steak frites for a true Left Bank experience.
