ProducerDomaine Machard de Gramont
Domaine Machard de Gramont Chorey-Lès-Beaune is a wonderfully approachable, terroir-driven red Burgundy from a family estate based in Prissey, just outside Nuits-Saint-Georges. Now run by Arnaud Machard de Gramont and his sons Alban and Alexis, the domaine farms 20 hectares stretching from Chenôve to Puligny-Montrachet. Chorey-Lès-Beaune is one of the great-value Burgundy appellations — softer and more drinkable young than its more famous neighbors, while still expressing genuine Côte de Beaune character. The fruit is hand-harvested, severely sorted, fermented in open wooden vats, and aged in oak barrels for 18 months in the estate's stunning 11th-century vaulted cellars. The nose offers ripe red cherry, raspberry, dried rose petal, and a soft thread of forest floor and warm spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with refreshing acidity, smooth tannins, and a clean, perfumed finish that delivers Burgundy's signature elegance without the steep premium. Pair it with roast chicken, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, lamb, or aged soft cheeses for a perfect Côte de Beaune evening.
