ProducerDomaine Machard de Gramont
Domaine Machard de Gramont Savigny-Lès-Beaune 1er Cru is a serious, place-driven red Burgundy from a respected family estate based in Prissey, just outside Nuits-Saint-Georges. The Premier Cru designation marks select hillside parcels within Savigny-Lès-Beaune that have been classified for their superior soils and aspect. The Machard de Gramont family hand-harvests, severely sorts, ferments in open wooden vats, and ages in oak barrels for 18 months in their stunning 11th-century vaulted cellars. The nose opens with red and black cherry, raspberry, violet, dried rose petal, sweet baking spice, and a wisp of forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full bodied with seamless texture, refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, perfumed finish that delivers genuine 1er Cru character. Built for both immediate enjoyment and short-to-medium cellaring of 5–8 years. Pair it with roast duck, pheasant, mushroom risotto, lamb chops, or creamy soft cheeses to fully appreciate the appellation's elegance and food-friendly versatility.
