Florio Marsala Superiore Sweet is a richly aromatic Sicilian fortified wine from the founding house of Marsala itself โ Cantine Florio, established in 1833 in the seaside town of Marsala. The historic cellars on Sicily's western coast have been producing this category-defining fortified wine for nearly two centuries. Made from native Sicilian grapes including Grillo, Catarratto, and Inzolia, then fortified and aged in oak casks to develop deep complexity. The nose offers warm caramel, dried fig, candied orange peel, toasted almond, and a wisp of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is unmistakably sweet but beautifully balanced by gentle acidity and a long, nutty finish that lingers. Equally enjoyed as a dessert wine sipped at the end of a meal or stirred into classic dishes like Veal Marsala, Tiramisu, or Zabaglione. The 375ml format is ideal โ Marsala is meant to be enjoyed slowly over several occasions. Pair it with hard cheeses, dark chocolate, dried fruit, almond biscotti, or simply relish it neat after dinner with espresso.
