Wine Reviews

Since its founding in 1765, Hennessy has been guided by a passion to craft the world’s finest Cognacs - our drive to Never Stop. Never Settle. Hennessy Cognac is crafted with a strict set of standards defined by the Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde and handed down from generation to generation. However, when it comes to enjoying Cognac, we haven’t followed any rules since 1765. Created in 1979, Hennessy Paradis is so named for the Hennessy Founder’s Cellar, where only the finest, rarest and oldest eaux-de-vie are kept. It is a cognac of remarkable depth and elegance. This cognac is made from 100 eaux-de-vie that have been aged for up to 130 years. Expert selection and blending ensure it epitomises harmony, finesse and maturity. It is presented in a stunning decanter by Italian designer Ferruccio Laviani. At first, Hennessy Paradis reveals its delicate and velvety character, hinting at the silky texture that will follow. Cinnamon, as well as candied fruit give way to the fragrance notes recalling dried roses or sweet briar rose jam. Hennessy Paradis plays with these fragrant paradoxes to offer to the palate an endless consistency. A paradox of aromas– the surprisingly spicy notes softened by perfumes of dried rose petals, and the power of its headier notes, voluptuous and tempting. Enhanced by a silky texture for a delightful gourmet and enveloping tasting experience.

Brandy & Cognac

Brandy is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented fruit juice, most commonly derived from grapes, with Cognac specifically denoting a premium type produced exclusively in the Cognac region of France. Distinguished by its adherence to strict regulations, Cognac undergoes double distillation and aging in French oak barrels, resulting in a refined and complex flavor profile, making it a symbol of luxury in the world of spirits. However, it can also be produced from other fruits like apples, pears, or cherries. The production process involves fermenting the fruit sugars and then distilling the resulting liquid to create a higher alcohol content. Brandy comes in various styles and aging categories, with different flavor profiles and characteristics, and it can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a key ingredient in cocktails.
