Product Description

The J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot is medium-dark in color with a red hue. Varietal aromas of black plum and violet meld with the light barrel signature of baking spices and toasted pastry. A generous fraction of Malbec in the blend accentuates bright fruit tones and contributes notes of pomegranate and hibiscus flower. This wine is lively and bright on the palate and cascades to a lengthy, red-fruit finish. It's named after the slightly heavier Los Osos series soils in Paso Robles, which have proven to be the perfect medium for growing lush, flavorful Merlot. This wine has earned the Certified California Sustainable seal. A generous fraction of Malbec in the blend accentuates red fruit and violet notes.

Made with grapes from the temperate El Pomar District and aged 12 months in Ameri- can oak, this is a distinguished, lush red. Ripe boysenberry melds with milk chocolate on the luxurious entry, and the creamy mouthfeel is graced with vanilla spice and violets.

Clean lines of black cherry and warm baking spices draw the nose into this widely available bottling, perfect for midweek enjoyment. Smooth tannins retain just enough edge on the palate to balance the cherry cordial and toasty wood flavors.

California wines are a dazzling showcase of sunshine, diversity, and bold American spirit, stretching from the cool fog of Sonoma to the sun-drenched valleys of Paso Robles. Napa Valley steals the spotlight with its world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, plush and powerful, while Sonoma charms with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay full of elegance and balance. Coastal breezes and varied soils let winemakers craft everything from crisp Sauvignon Blanc to juicy Zinfandel and even sparkling wines that rival Champagne. Innovation runs deep here, with both legendary estates and small boutique producers pushing boundaries in style and sustainability. Pour a glass of California wine and youโ€™ll taste not just fruit and terroir, but the fearless, pioneering vibe that defines the Golden State.
Merlot is another red wine grape variety that is widely cultivated and used in winemaking around the world. It is known for producing wines that are generally softer, rounder, and more approachable than some of the more tannic red wines, such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot is often used in blends, and it is a key component in Bordeaux wines, particularly on the right bank of the Gironde River.
