ProducerLulu L'Alouette
Lulu L'Alouette Touraine Sauvignon is a bright, zesty French Sauvignon Blanc from the Touraine appellation in the central Loire Valley — a region producing some of the most expressive Sauvignon Blanc in the world at thoroughly approachable prices. While Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé get all the attention, Touraine quietly delivers near-identical purity at a fraction of the cost. The pour shows a brilliantly pale lemon-yellow color. The nose opens with fresh-cut grass, gooseberry, lime zest, white flower, and a wisp of crushed flint. On the palate, the wine is bone-dry, electrically vibrant with bracing acidity, juicy citrus and green apple fruit, and a long, mineral-driven finish that absolutely begs for shellfish. The cool Loire climate gives Sauvignon Blanc its signature tension and freshness — exactly what makes the variety the gold standard for matching with food. Best served well-chilled in a generous wine glass to release the aromatics. Pair it with raw oysters, goat cheese, grilled white fish, sushi, or summer salads with citrus dressing. Smart, expressive, and a genuine bargain in the Sauvignon Blanc category.
