Quinta Milú Ribera del Duero is a soulful, place-driven natural wine from Germán R. Blanco's tiny micro-winery in the village of La Aguilera — and one of the most exciting projects in modern Ribera del Duero. Named for Germán's son Lucas, lovingly called "Mi Lu," the estate works exclusively with old Tempranillo vines averaging 50 years of age, planted at extraordinary altitudes between 870 and 908 meters on clay-limestone soils. Germán eschews modern winemaking techniques entirely — using foot-treading, wild yeast fermentation, minimal handling, and aging only in concrete, amphora, and old barrels (no new oak). The result is a fresh, fruit-forward expression of Tempranillo that drinks far more elegantly than typical Ribera del Duero. The nose opens with bright red cherry, raspberry, violet, fresh herbs, and a clear chalky-mineral lift. On the palate, expect lifted acidity, juicy red fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a long, mineral-driven finish that reveals serious craftsmanship. Pair it with roast lamb, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, or aged Manchego for a memorable artisan Spanish experience.
