Rocca delle Macìe Rubizzo is a friendly, food-loving Tuscan red from one of Chianti Classico's most respected family estates — Rocca delle Macìe, founded in 1973 by Italian film producer Italo Zingarelli (the producer behind "They Call Me Trinity"). The estate spans nearly 200 hectares of vineyards across the heart of Chianti Classico and crafts wines that capture the warmth, charm, and food-friendliness Tuscany is famous for. Rubizzo ("the ruddy one") is the estate's vibrant, juicy entry tier — built around Sangiovese with thoughtful supporting varieties to round out the palate. The nose opens with ripe red cherry, juicy plum, dried herbs, and a subtle floral lift typical of Tuscan reds. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with lively acidity, supple tannins, juicy fruit, and a clean savory finish that practically begs for pizza or pasta. Aged briefly to preserve fruit purity and drinkability. Pair it with weeknight pasta, pizza Margherita, charcuterie boards, grilled chicken, or a wedge of Pecorino — Tuscan everyday drinking at its most charming.
