This French oak-aged red sourced from prestige vine- yards throughout Napa Valley is dense and delicious, with flavors of devil's food cake and espresso. Jammy and plush blackberry melds with oak and supple tannins, impart- ing sweetness that lingers on the finish.

This wine is amassing an enviable track record of consistent quality from vintage to vintage at an affordable price. It's not overly weighty, woody, or assertive, but it does deliver a lot of flavor in a lastingly delicious manner. We know from market research that a high percentage of wines are consumed shortly after purchase; if opened early on in keeping with that likelihood, this will outperform many Cabs twice its price.

Description

A deep magenta color leads to an enveloping aroma of cedar, shaved graphite, black plum, and dried thyme. The flavor and structure is all Napa Valley! The wine is medium-full bodied with a beautiful rich, supple texture and flavors of dark fruit, exotic spices (nutmeg and cinnamon), tobacco, coffee, and dark chocolate. There is a nice brightness from the acidity, a subtle kiss of tannin, and nice ripe fruit to make this a complete Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Blend: 89.5% Cabernet sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3.5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot

Cabernet Sauvignon

A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
