The 2019 Lagrange has turned out beautifully in bottle, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, blackberries and cassis mingled with hints of loamy soil, pencil shavings and bay leaf. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with an ample core of lively fruit, powdery tannins and succulent acids, it's suave and seamless, concluding with a long, expansive finish. The result of an extremely rigorous selection, and incorporating fully 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is the finest wine this château has produced in the modern era. Remarkably, it was released at the same price en primeur as the 2005! Best After 2025

Description

Farmed organically, the second wine of this notable property shows blueberries, figs, gravel, and vanilla framed in cedar. It’s dark and woodsy with slightly grainy tannins, and ample acidity giving bite to the dry finish. Can continue to age; if drinking now, try with pot roast or herb-crusted lamb chops. This wine is naturally grown and boasts a complex blend of flavors, including juicy blueberries and earthy figs, with hints of gravel and vanilla all wrapped up in a smooth cedar frame. The finish is dry and satisfying, with a slight hint of grainy tannins and a touch of acidity for a perfect balance. This wine can be enjoyed now or saved for later, and if you're in the mood for a hearty meal, try pairing it with pot roast or herb-crusted lamb chops for a delightful dining experience.

Bordeaux Red Blend

Bordeaux red blends, hailing from the Bordeaux region in France, artfully combine grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec to create wines celebrated for their balanced profiles, marrying the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the fruitiness of Merlot. Known for aging potential, these wines evolve, gaining complexity and softer tannins over time, and their styles range from elegant to full-bodied, influenced by grape proportions and specific terroirs within Bordeaux sub-regions.
