Description

Stags' Leap Napa Valley Merlot Red Wine is crafted mainly with fruit from Oak Knoll, while the remaining fruit is sourced from the Oakville appellation as well as our very own Stags’ Leap District. The palate is fleshy, rich, and full, with mouthwatering fruit flavors, polished structure, refreshing acidity, and soft, velvety tannins, leading to a lengthy finish, exhibiting a well-balanced wine that shows the true elegance of Merlot. Established in 1893, Stags’ Leap Winery is one of the oldest California wine estates within the acclaimed Stags’ Leap District. A unique terroir and ideal microclimate support a classical standard of viticulture, land use, and winemaking that is as relevant today as it was over a century ago.

Merlot

Merlot is another red wine grape variety that is widely cultivated and used in winemaking around the world. It is known for producing wines that are generally softer, rounder, and more approachable than some of the more tannic red wines, such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot is often used in blends, and it is a key component in Bordeaux wines, particularly on the right bank of the Gironde River.
