ProducerSylvain Langoureau
From the small Sylvain Langoureau family domaine in Gamay, just outside Saint-Aubin in Côte de Beaune. Saint-Aubin sits between Puligny- and Chassagne-Montrachet, sharing the same limestone soils as its famous neighbors at a fraction of the price. Les Frionnes is a south/southeast-facing Premier Cru climat just up the slope from Puligny.
A finely cut, mineral-driven white Burgundy: ripe pear, white peach, toasted almond and a delicate framing of oak over a long, racy finish. 750ml. Serve cool but not cold (12-14°C). Pair with grilled fish, lobster, scallops, chicken in cream sauce or aged comté. A textbook example of how good Saint-Aubin can be.
