WhistlePig has announced The Boss Hog X: The Commandments, a single barrel, barrel strength, straight Rye whiskey aged in American oak and finished in barrels seasoned with an experimental, aromatic resin spirit, and then aged in craft mead casks.
The experimental resin spirit was created by WhistlePigs Vermont distillery team. Distilled from rye and whey, it was infused with aromatic resins from the genera Boswellia and Commiphora commonly known as Frankincense and Myrrh.
WhistlePig The Boss Hog X: The Commandments is described as having aromas of honey, roasted cashew, fresh ginger, and subtle floral notes. The palate exhibits notes of dried honey, raisin, and sharp, bright citrus, concluding with sapwood and fresh ground pepper on the finish.~Distiller Notes
Due to the variable nature of single barrel products, bottles of The Boss Hog X: The Commandments will vary from 105.3-107 proof (52.6-53.5% ABV).
