Koshi No Sasameyuki Junmai is a refined Japanese sake from one of Niigata Prefecture's most respected brewing traditions — a region celebrated for producing some of Japan's cleanest, most elegant sake thanks to its pristine snowmelt water and high-quality rice. The name translates roughly to "powdered snow of Koshi" — a poetic nod to the Niigata winter landscape that defines the region's brewing culture. Junmai ("pure rice") indicates the sake is made with only rice, water, koji, and yeast — no added distilled alcohol. The pour reveals a brilliantly clear, slightly pale-gold appearance. The nose opens with delicate steamed rice, fresh white melon, soft pear, and a subtle floral lift. On the palate, the sake is silky and beautifully balanced with soft umami, refined acidity, gentle sweetness, and a long, clean finish. The light-to-medium body makes it endlessly food-friendly. Best served slightly chilled or at room temperature to fully appreciate the delicate aromatics. Pair with sushi, sashimi, light tempura, scallop crudo, or any refined Japanese dish.
