As usual, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Mourre Des Perdrix offers a prettier, more elegant style as well as terrific red fruits, incense, and violet nuances. Medium to full-bodied and balanced, with remarkable purity of fruit, it’s unquestionably an outstanding wine and is the most finesse-driven of the 2018 releases. This cuvée is 70% Grenache and 15% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, was 80% destemmed, and comes primarily from the sandy soils around the estate.
